FleX-RAY joined PSD for the second time

September 22, 2023

At the beginning of autumn (3-8 September 2023), the 13th International Conference on Position Sensitive Detectors (PSD13) took place in Oxford, England, hosting research by prominent researchers from various scientific disciplines in the field of position-sensitive detectors. So, two years after PSD12, it’s a great honour to join the event and provide a valuable research update on the FleX-RAY research to the international scientific and technological communities. The University of Sheffield participated in the event, representing the FleX-RAY consortium, and Scott Wilbur attended it as our project speaker. The presentation was specifically centred around “Flexible X-Ray Imaging Detectors Using Scintillating FIbers”. The team of authors is comprised of members from all partners, namely TWI Hellas, Fraunhofer HHI, the Research Institutes of Sweden and Optoelectronica 2001 S.A. In a nutshell, the presentation dealt with FleX-RAY’s progress in scintillating fibers and self- shape-reporting sensors, as well as images reconstructed on a simulated detector. Most importantly, it presented the latest images acquired from the FleX-RAY prototype.
